Brian Laundrie autopsy result reveals Gabby Petito's fiancé shot himself in head in suicide, lawyer says

BRIAN Laundrie's autopsy results revealed Gabby Petito's fiancé shot himself in the head in suicide, lawyer says.

The revelation comes over a month after Laundrie's skeletal remains were found in the Carlton Reserve on October 20.

"Chris and Roberta Laundrie have been informed that the cause of death was a gunshot wound to the head and the manner of death was suicide," Laundrie family attorney Steven Bertolino told The Sun US.

"Chris and Roberta are still mourning the loss of their son and are hopeful that these findings bring closure to both families."

Detectives arrived at the Laundrie family home to tell his parents that their son was found in the Carlton Reserve on October 20.

"There are two young people that have now lost their lives," Laundrie attorney Bertolino said during an interview with NBC News following the grim discovery. "These are parents that are suffering.

"Now, I understand that whatever happened or whatever didn't happen… This is tragic for two families.

"And anybody with a child, and anybody with a sense of humanity can understand the frustration that both families feel on that point."

The FBI also confirmed the identification in a statement.

"On October 21, 2021, a comparison of dental records confirmed that the human remains found at the T. Mabry Carlton, Jr. Memorial Reserve and Myakkahatchee Creek Environmental Park are those of Brian Laundrie," it read.
