Wednesday will be the last day of cooler temperatures and moisture for a while as more seasonal highs into the 90s are back in the forecast along with continued, poor air quality.
According to the National Weather Service in Boulder, mid-morning clouds could turn into an afternoon thunderstorm with a high of 83 degrees on Wednesday. The day will be a transition in weather patterns, as 15 mph wind gusts push in drier air and smoke with a low of 60 overnight. The metro area is under an air quality alert for ozone, but the days ahead could bring even worse air.
The warming and drying trend will be clear Thursday. There will be a high of 91 degrees under smoky skies. The low will dip to 62 degrees.
Friday will climb to 95 degrees, with wind gusts over 22 mph. There’s a slight chance of an afternoon storm ahead of 61 degree low temperature.
The weekend and early next week are more of the same, with highs in the 90s and dry days.
