The Met Office has issued a rare ‘Amber’ weather warning for ice, pointing to potential “danger to life on icy surfaces”. There is also a “good chance” of power cuts, as well as disruption to travel, with driving conditions expected to become “dangerous”. The warning comes into force at 9am today and is set to last until 8pm.
