Paris shooting: Child, 10, shot in back as gunman opens fire – suspect on the run

The shooting took place at around 1pm local time in Pantin, a commune in the northeastern suburbs of Paris. A man is understood to have fired a gun several times at a moving vehicle, and injured a 10-year-old girl in the process. The child, who was a passenger in the car, has since been rushed to hospital by her father. 

The child was shot in the back, according to a police source. 

It is believed the father was the target of the attack.

The suspect fled the scene and has not yet been caught by the police. 

Police have launched an investigation into the incident.
