Prince Harry and Prince William jointly sign off on Diana statue despite rift

Prince Harry and Prince William have reportedly come together to sign off on the final design for a statue in memory of their late mother Princess Diana.

The brothers have not been on the best of terms following Harry and wife Meghan Markle’s bombshell interview with U.S. chat show host Oprah Winfrey.

Meghan and Harry shone a light on the inner workings of the Royal Family, opening up the Firm for criticism, which William was forced to confront.

William and his state-side brother have seemingly put aside their differences however to give feedback on a statue for their mother, set to be unveiled on July 1.

Sculptor Ian Rank-Broadley is said to have sent the statue to be cast following feedback from William and Harry, the Sun reported.

Mr Rank Broadley is believed to have worked closely with the brothers over the last few months, which shows both Harry and William are prioritising their mum.

It is not clear if the pair had a conversation prior to the signing, but a source close to Rank-Broadley said the statute is set to be "incredible."

A source close to the sculptor reportedly told The Sun : "It will have been signed off by William and Harry, that much I do know.

"I know he did work closely with the boys and I think it will be incredible. We’re lucky to have him as an artist in the UK.”

The installation will take place in the Sunken Garden of Kensington Palace on July 1, 2021, which Prince Harry will reportedly do his best to attend, the Telegraph reported.

Speaking when the statue was first announced, a source close to the Palace said: "Prince William and Prince Harry have dreamed of doing this for a long time.

"They were both just boys when their mother passed away, but are both now fully grown men and want to honour her in the best way possible.

"It has taken 20 years for this to finally come to fruition so they are determined it will be a lasting and fitting legacy in what is their official London residence and a place special to them both."

The statue will mark what would have been Princess Diana's 60th birthday.
